Hi Everyone, long time no hear! So sorry i haven't been keeping my journal up to date, hard to find the time! Not sure where I left off but sure I was in Sydney by then. Not been doing alot since then. We arrived and chnaged hostels a few times trying to settle. Eventually found a wee room in a guest house type thing, shared bathroom but own kitchen. It was great to unpack our bags and hang clothes up! Also decided it was bout time we found ourselves a job, so we registered with an agency dealing with childcare centres (unfortunately we can't teach here because we're not registered). So a week after out interviews it was off to work we go! Total shock to the system half seven alarms and 8 hour days....haven't missed it I can tell you. It was pretty strange working with one and two year olds, not somehting I'll be persuing that's for sure. In a way I suppose it was nice to settle and have a slight routine going. Beofre long though it's Christmas and time to finish work.
We booked our Bridge Climb for Christmas Eve, typically it was terrential rainstorms and lightning. We got lost actually getting to the place and we were soaking wet. Had to change into trendy jump suits and have everything and I mean everything attached to us. Had a safety briefing then it was off to climb the harbour bridge. thankfully it stopped raining justin time and although the view wasn't the best still had a great time. It wasn't too scary, the worst bit was probably climbing the 4 vertical ladders, through the layers of traffic. The climb up the bridge was quite steep
Christmas has been totally different here and in a way not so Christmassy at all. Unfortunately the weather hasn't been up to much, lots of rain and a bit chilly so our plans for a beach picnic on Christmas day didn't quite go to planned. Although it turned out a great day we decided to go to Alison's house for a dinner and drinks. Had a nice day with a group of 5 girls, we turned up in the city with our Scotland flag, a crate of beer and santa hats. We ended up going to visit Jim at night. He had been with a group of 18 irish lads throughout the day so it ended up a great night with the irish!
