We were a little too excited about the idea of leaving South America and flying to the USA for one last week before home. After our first two month stint there, people would ask us about it and, after we told them we mostly went to National Parks, the standard response was "Oh, how good is Zion!" We quickly discovered that practically the only park we didn't get to was one of the best. When we arrived in LAX at midnight, we hired a car and drove straight there through the night. We ended up spending two days picking off trails around the park and trying to get back into the groove of our USA road trips - wake up early - drive to the park - eat breakfast - do a nice big walk - eat lunch in the car - pick off little walks before dark - supermarket - catch up with our host. We were very happy to be back.
