We spent three days exploring the famous Yellowstone National Park and it's much less known but equally awesome neighbour - Tetons National Park.
On our first day we hiked up to Amphitheatre Lake which was appropriately named due to the incredible amphitheatre of mountains surrounding it. Although it was crystal clear, deep blue and stunning - it was not the highlight. While we were there we were visited by two bears who wandered on past, went for a swim and more or less acted as though there was nobody around. At one point one of them passed about 10m by Sonja without even giving her a second thought. Sonja was ecstatic and snapped away as if it was a harmless kitten.
We spent our day in Yellowstone picking off a bunch of short walks to geysers, hot springs and mud ponds. The park is absolutely brimming with volcanic activity, so much so that you barely have to get out of the car to be impressed.
For our last day in the parks we decided to summit a mountain to get a good view of the Tetons mountains. The hike was not easy and the last bit was a full scramble up a steep scree but again - the view was worth it.
While we were there we were lucky enough to be welcomed into Cameron's home - right inside the Tetons National Park. Cameron was great company…when he bothered to come home at all ;)

peter There was no doubt that this epic trip was a good idea. These pictures confirm that in no small way. I rather think you guys are on another planet.
