Well where do we start? We got to Vegas on Sonja's birthday and tried to fit as much into our first day as we could. Instantly we were thrown, after seven months of travel this was the first time we have been completely out of our usual habits and schedules and just went with the flow. Time passes at an unknown speed as you walk through casinos filled with flashing lights, free drinks, scantily clad dancers, drunken partiers, high stakes poker games and no windows to the stiflingly hot outside world. The bigger casinos also had shopping malls where the rich business men, lucky winners and bored wives spend all their cash on $8,000 coats and even pricier shoes.
A few of our highlights were:
- A seafood buffet where we had as much crab, raw salmon and prawns as we wanted on top of five other buffet themes and the most amazing dessert buffet we've laid eyes on
- Love, the Beatles themed Cirque Du Soleil show
- Cheersing to Sonja's birthday with champagne on a bridge with a view of The Strip
- By mistake finding that we had snuck into the show Rock of the Ages
- Strolling down the canals of Venice while enjoying some free martinis and macaroons
- Sipping on red wine on a very classy rooftop pool deck
Our weekend in Vegas lived up to all the expectations we've gained over the years of watching American movies without hurting our hip pocket. While we had a fantastic time, it took everything out of us and we were happy to leave and return to the normal world again.

peter All that for free? I may put Vegas on the bucket list. Sounds perfect for a couple of tight arses.
