After enjoying another couple of days in Pokhara, floating on the river boats, visiting Tibetan refugee camps and taking advantage of happy hours, we caught a bus to Chitwan, a wildlife reserve next to the border to India.
On the bus we met a Dutch girl, Vianne, that we talked to on the ABC trek and her friend Felix whom she had also met in Annapurna. We all spent two days trekking through the jungle spotting all sorts of wild life including plenty of crocodiles and deer, a bison, some foxes, two rhinos, peacocks, stalks, owls, kingfishers and more.
Sadly the elephants didn't seem to be treated all that well. If they weren't being made to walk around the town or bath with tourists, they had their front two feet chained together so they could only sway on the spot while tourists posed for photos in front of them. None of them looked happy and it was just unpleasant to see.
Besides the poor elephants, we had a lot fun spotting animals and lazing on river banks in the sun.
