The best thing about our stay in Sofia was our hostel which provided breakfast, dinner and beer in a common room with tons of other travellers all keen to socialise.

Sofia was nice enough with some huge buildings, monuments and statues but we didn't think it was a city to recommend to others. On our second day there, we walked through the country side which was very close to the city and very easy to get to. Unexpected, we saw a snake on the path which we almost stepped on, it looked just like a brown snake from Australia but we were convinced that if snakes are dangerous in Bulgaria then we would be aware of them so we happily stuck around and took some photos.
