We left Coffin Bay not too sure where we were heading for. We stopped for lunch at Elliston which was another pretty seaside town. The bakery was good. We kept driving north and stopped to visit Murphy's Haystacks just north of Port Kenny - they included granite pillars (still attached to bedrock) and boulders (floaters). Today Mum and I went to the Coffin Bay Community Market in the local hall while Fraser and Dad went birdwatching at Big Swamp (on the road back to Port Lincoln). They recorded 5 new species for their trip bird list so were happy when they returned. A hot day was forecast so we headed to Long Beach in the morning, caught more pipis and we also paddled the kayaks around the bay while Dad went snorkelling. After lunch we had an ice cream before heading to the town wharf to do some more fishing. On his first two casts Fraser caught 4 undersized salmon, but soon improved with a nice fighting trevally. Glenys you'll be pleased to know that Mum finished the day by catching 2 fine whiting.

Today we drove from Port Lincoln to a small oyster-farming town called Coffin Bay (named after Sir Isaac Coffin who was Matthew Flinders good friend). Once we set up we drove into town and got Dad some oysters from one of the oysters sheds. After that we went to Long Beach where we collected about 100 Pipis (Goolwa cockles) for bait. Today is our last day at Port Lincoln. We finished off some of our school assessments in the morning and borrowed some library books. We had a relaxing afternoon, coffee then headed off for a fish mid to late afternoon. Fraser caught a nice whiting which Dad ate for tea.
