Heyyy!
Last day in Chicago, booo! It's such a nice city! And its been nice to spend a bit longer than 2 days in one place haha! But this is the end of the N-Debz and Janeo tour, so now I have to get on the first Greyhound bus tonight, eeek! I managed to survive going in the station to get my ticket so all good, yay! I'm amazed at how friendly and helpful people are here!
Oh Shaz I wish I'd taken a photo of the room, but we were just soooo embarrassed! Only us 2 can manage to flood a hotel lol!
First thing we were told to do by our American friends in Chicago - see a baseball game. Admittedly we were told to go and see the Cubs, but they had no home games, so we went to see the White Sox. It didn't really matter who we saw, we didn't have a clue what was going on anyway! It was so cool though, and very relaxing.. nothing like the football fans! Thank god we were high enough so that the ball was never hit into our part of the stadium. I couldn't imagine me or Debbie trying to catch that ball!! Good news - White Sox won. The home runs were quite cool, they would set of some fireworks. We were nearly tempted to get the baseball merch, before realising when would we ever wear it!
We've managed to get most of the tourist-y stuff done in Chicago. We've walked down the Maginificent Mile (full of all the high end shops, so we couldn't buy anything:(), we did a boat tour on Lake Michigan, rode the Ferris wheel on navy pier, been to some Jazz bars (one where Al Capone used to hang out), ate lunch at Bubba Gumps (yummy Mussels), and of course gotten lost (several times)!
After 6 weeks of singing our power ballad "Total eclipse of the heart" - from chicken buses in Guatemala to a closed karaoke bar in Nicaragua, we finally found an open, working karaoke night... and still failed! Some horrible guy stole our song because Debs had written down "bright eyes" - 'if you don't know the right name of the song, you don't get to sing it"!!! So mean! Ah well, we may have to honour the people of the UK with our voices instead haha!
We had our last meal in Chicago last night at a famous stuffed pizza place called Giordanos. It was the best pizza I've ever had. They don't just stuff the crust, they stuff the pizza so it looks like pie!! We had it stuffed with mozzarella, pepperoni and onions! It was so filling, I think we were full after about a slice.
Its been fun, and now I have to head to Minneapolis on my lonesome! No more N-Debs doing her drunken photo shoot - thought you might kill me for putting that in, but you'll be at home before you read this heehee!
I'll blog soon, but I'm only in Minneapolis for the night so it may be in Rapid City. Excited for Mount Rushmore:)
Love to the UK (and Europe)
xXx
