Disney world and a pool, it's like I'm reliving my childhood:)
I had the absolute best day! Free breakfast of bagels and coffee in the hotel and a free lift to universal studios. I spent the day in islands of adventure so that, you guessed it, I could spend the day in harry potter land! It was amazing!
I jumped on the first ride I got to, without really looking at what it was, and it was a rollercoaster (great choice after breakfast haha)! when I was walking into the entrance the guy stopped me, I froze in embarrassment thinking he was going to get me to stand next to the height guide in case I was too small. Thankfully no, I just needed to put my bag in a locker, phew! I was so much fun, it's 2 rollercoasters intertwined so that at points it feels as if the two carriages would crash. After that I went on the forbidden journey through hogwarts - it started off fun, we looked at a big screen and it made you feel as if you were flying but then the carriage starts moving around to face a dragon and then into the forbidden forest. I knew what was coming next when I saw some spiders; the big giant tarantula aragog, so I covered my eyes at this point. Bad timing, that was when they decide to take your photo, so I look like a big wimp when the kid next to me has a big smile on his face!
I went into Ollivanders wand shop, you have to go in in groups. Typical, I get picked on by mr ollivander. I had to try all the wands, everytime I waved a wand something would happen in the shop, like the flowers dying it the bells ringing. Eventually he asked me for my birthday and as he handed me a wand a light shone with a gust if wind like in the film. It was so embarrassing! At least I got a wand, there's different wands for each birth month. Now this cool kid has to carry a harry potter wand around the rest of America.
There were most if the shops from the books - honeydukes (I got some chocolate frogs), zonkos etc.
I had an amazing lunch at the 3 broomsticks of shepherds pie, and some hogs head brew. I also tried some butterbeer, which wasn't that great. It was so sweet! Tasted like an ice cream float.
Before you think I spent the whole day in harry potter land, I did go on the other rides:) it's do good being by yourself, they have separate queues for single riders so you get on the ride faster. That meant I got to go on most of the rides two it three times. I went on the Jurassic park ride and wasn't expecting the big drop at the end, so ended up clinging onto the guy next to me, oops! It doesn't help that they kept sitting me next to people who are a little on the American large size, on Jurassic and spiderman it's just one bar that goes across everyone on the row, so it wasn't anywhere bear my stomach! Crazy!
I had a few goes of all the rides, especially the HP rollercoaster, until it started to pour down. The sky just opened, and I looked like a drowned rat. It was 6pm at this point, and I had been there since 9am so I headed back, via starbucks to dry off an warm up. It's tiring going on all these rides!
Im going to spend the day in universal studios tomorrow, let's hope it doesn't rain, and then onto a pirates dinner show. Exciting!
