We stopped at the island of Paros to break up the trip to Mykonos. Paros is described as the ferry hub of the Cyclades. A plus is the weather is getting better with less wind, so it's easy to anchor in the large bay. We go ashore to the port town of 'Lividia' which seems almost deserted. There is however, the most beautiful Byzantine church of 'Panagia Ekatondapyliani' that we visit. This church was built by the emperor Justinian in 326 A.D. It has it's own small museum with many icons. It is a perfect example of this type of church that is still in use. It has good architecture with well preserved original frescoes and lots of icon's, some dating back to the 14th century.
We then visit the other main town 'Naousa', the girls go by taxi and Brad and MB hire motor scooters. It was a quiet fishing village but now transformed into a busy resort town with winding narrow streets and some good clothing stores. There are also some really nice bars and restaurants on the waterfront.
There are clothing sales here in Greece up to 70% off, so the girls have fun in some of the very nice boutiques.
Next stop Mykonos.
