We arrived at krabi pier to be greeted by another taxi truk to take us too our final resort, mild bungalows...
There were whispers on the truck that our journey would take two hours, dani and myself sighed with relief as our stop was the first.
We were greeted at the end of our road by the helpful staff that carried our sacks into reception. We checked in and was then shown to our bungalow, outside the front was two dirty patio chairs and make shift table. The porter opened the door, and we were greeted with a stench of dampness.
The porter seemed thankful for our stay and switched the air-con on for us, with a minute delay on the air con I browsed round the room and checked out the fridge which was heavily stocked, but the decor was second to none! The Walls were lined with dark brown one ply chip board but the colourful pictures added some warmth. These were thrown back from the 80s and of the holographic style. I could tell on dani's face that she loved every moment!!!
After a sticky ferry I decided to freshen up within the bathroom. The shower was freezing and resembled my urine on a boozy Saturday night...weak and rust in colour! After kind of freshening up dani complained that she felt like she was in an institution for naughty tourists!!! Whilst she layed on the bed, I tried comforting her by sitting with her but we both nearly fell through it.
We decided to leave the bungalow and take the short walk down to the beach, after asking at reception which way to head, she insisted it was only five minutes and to the left. We walked down the long unlit road for 20 minutes and found the beach it was lovely. But no sign of life. we carried on hoping we would find an Internet cafe so we could find out about what's to do in the area, we stopped in a restaurant that we stumbled across and hoping food would make us happier, ordered a pad thai each. The food arrived, it was the worst meal i had eaten since arriving to thailand our faces were miserable and we felt let down by max a million in bangkok!!! We started our quest again for the internet cafe but only finding a travel agents on our way, we asked to use their connection. The agent kindly said yes but the connection was sooooo slow! We explained what we were doing and he advised us to find somewhere else if we were not happy! He showed us some brochures and we booked a new resort!!! Happy days...
The agent called a tuk tuk for us to take us back to mild bungalows grab our sacks, check out, and then check in to our new place.
I was nervous on what the owner would say, and dani kindly gave me the job of checking out...eek
Within five minutes we were packed and ready to go! As I went to reception they had cottoned on to what was happening, shouting "where are you going??" I bluntly said it's rubbish here and we are off. Handing the key back he snubbed his nose and gave me
The filthiest look!! Our new venture came to an end so quickly but we were very thankful!!!! DO NOT EVER BOOK MILD BUNGALOWS IN AU NANG BEACH KRABI
