James and Ellie in Europe
Day 4
Today we went to Pully which is just down the lake from Lausanne.
It`s a very pretty and very special place for Ellie. For those of you who don`t know, Ellie`s Granny on her Mum`s side was from here. The place has moved on quite a lot from when she used to herd goats :o)
We went down to the lake and dangled our feet in the water. (unbelievably this is the first time we have actually set foot in the lake and will probably be the last too unfortunately) We went to Pully Museum to learn more about the history of this quaint little town but having paid our 5 Francs we entered an Art Gallery containing the work of just one painter!!! We are now VERY familiar with the works of one Pascal Besson but know nothing more about Pully!!! This was somewhat disappointing considering we walked up and down the same hill three times to get there!!!!!
We popped back in to Lausanne on the way home because we fancied another go at the hill (or cos Ellie wanted to look in a boutique that had closed when we got there yesterday) and stopped off for a crepe (i said a crepe - stop sniggering at the back there).
It started raining as we got back in to Morges but luckily our tent was solid :o)
We watched the storm over the lake and finally managed to cook our first meal of the trip. Feel a bit more like hardened travellers now hehe :o)
We`re off to Zermatt tomorrow morning and will be hoping for a glimpse of the Matterhorn at some point. Hope everyone`s well.
See you all later!!!!!!!
