James and Ellie in Europe
Day 3:
Got the train to Morges after lugging all our bags back through Genève... mine seemed heavier... We found the campsite relatively easily after getting off at the right stop ( :o0 ) and getting directions from a random, but nice man. It was reaaaaaaaaaaaaaally hot and all we wanted to do was sleep, but early afternoon we went to Lausanne.
We trekked up the hill (it is a very steep climb - especially when you already have sore feet) but we made it to the top and to the 12th Century cathedral.
As soon as we entered the cathedral, we could feel how old it was, imagining how many people had been there over the centuries. It was breathtaking.
Outside we found an African food stall and ate pineapple fritters! Yay!!! James had the spiciest sauce ever!
It turned out there was a massive music festival on, so we hung around a couple of hours longer... ate more food (raclette and loads of strawberries and cream - we really are roughing it) and listenend to the "interesting" bands. We can see why the Swiss have never won the eurovision song contest!
Ciao!
