We were back with plenty of time to have a nice relaxed shower and get changed in preparation for tonight's meal. The Wipers were not so punctual and although they were running late they managed to get to the meal on time, just! Dad had done well again with delicious food situated in a very cool old timey style restaurant with the most amazing toilets! Everyone had a great evening and we made it back to The Pullman just in time to see the fireworks from the tower. But where to stand? Hmm this was tricky one. We wanted to be able to see the fireworks from a good angle but we were running out of time. It was a crucial decision and we were all urmming and arhhing, where to stand, where to stand? Then, suddenly we heard 'THIS IS IT!' Gail had found the perfect spot and celebrated accordingly. Finally we were all in the best spot for the fireworks and bought some English tradition to the streets of Auckland by linking arms and singing 'Auld Lang Syne'. We all had a kiss and a cuddle to wish everyone a happy new year and then half the party hit the bar and half the party headed for bed, you can probably guess by now who did what!
Our quiet evening was interrupted by an extremely drunk Canadian (I think) who could barely speak but entertained us for a good half hour. Gail and Chris were not as impressed and went to bed. When our drunken 'friend' had finally left we were all a bit tipsy ourselves and had a few 'would you rather?' questions that, as always got a bit out of hand and the tone was majorly lowered!
