We had a fantastic historical walking tour through the streets of Berlin. Our guide for the day shared some interesting stories about the history of Berlin. I took many photos of all the buildings and monuments. We saw the Brandenburg gate which was a great site to see and we were trying to avoid the gypsys that surrounded the popular tourist destination. It was an extremely cold morning so we tried to keep ourselves warm with some take away coffees. The holocaust memorial was placed right in the middle of the city. It holds Many concrete blocks, all placed at different heights. It is up to your own eye to interpret the meaning.
We again passed another side of the Berlin wall that had been knocked down before ending the walk at check point Charlie
for the afternoon I spent my time shopping for boots as my feet were frozen and knew it was going to get even colder. I found some snow boots for 24 euro (45aud) which was a fantastic price.
In the evening we all decided to have dinner together at a traditional German restaurant (and yes I ordered schnitzel). We were then taken on the back to the Reichstag building. We went upto the top and each had our own audio tour as we looked out into the night of the Berlin city. It iwas an amazing building and once you were up the top you could look right down into the parliament. The idea to bavethis open was so that no secrets were to ever be kept again in Germany.
