Our journey to Berlin was via the speedy ICE train which clocked at least 240km an hour. Considering how far Hamburg is from Berlin, it only took just less than 2 hours to get there. We found our hotel which was just outside central Berlin and checked in. On our way to get food we met a couple people who were also going to be on the same Contiki tour. We all went for a drink and a bite to eat and got time to get to know each other.
The Contiki group met at night to discuss the usuals with our tour guide Brek. Our group was majorly Aussies with a mix of people from Canada, the US, NZ and South Africa. Dinner was included on the first night so we all had some not so good food and a few beers together.
I continued with some of the group into the city where we had Gluwein (mulled red wine) at the Christmas markets to warm up. (It was -2 degrees) and then ventured off to find a little bar to have a drink. I went back home to get some sleep because I was so tired and the following day we had a few things on.
