Sydney (25.08.2012): AHHHHH we have reached our final destination! We touched down in Sydney, New South Wales (a new state) at 14:20. We hung around for our free shuttle to Zing Backpackers arriving at around 16:00. Nothing much to report today. I got someone's hair caught in my backpack and my Singapore travel neck pillow burst in the shuttle - millions of white polystyrene dots went everywhere. Oh dear. Not a successful trip!

We had a great view over Sydney on landing - spotting the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House from the air. Looking forward to exploring more over the next couple of days. We are both too tired to do much today.

We are having a chilled out evening so that we have lots of energy for tomorrow. We have our own room in the hostel as it was barely anymore dollars. Woooo. We even got upgraded and have our own bathroom. Sadly we still have a bunk bed but this feels like luxury - oh the days of cheap nice hotels in Asia!

We are staying in the Kings Cross area aka backpacker district. It seems fairly lively. We have just gotten back from the supermarket. 1 dollar pasta and sauce.. YUM!

The hostel has unlimited free tea: stocking up but looking forward to English tea at home. Also can't wait for a roast dinner!
