Byron Bay (24.08.2012): Oh. As much as I am not ready to leave yet, I cannot wait to sleep on a bed other than a bunk bed and not share my room with complete strangers. It's ok most of the time but this bunk bed has no ladders. I can't figure it out. I am sharing a room with five boys, it stinks! Hmmm a bad nights sleep. Some Irish guys were up till 5am being drunkard and loud. Damn it. Go the Irish though. They are definitely the most party animals of all nations we have met travelling. The only strange thing is that many of them party so much they are too hungover to go and see anything so then they sleep all day. They move on to the next place to party without having seen anything. Quite why they needed to go pay a huge amount on a plane ticket to OZ to do that I don't know but they seem to have fun!
Finally it was quiet but we had to get up for our bus to Byron. The bus set off at 8am and we were in Byron Bay by 10am. We had a great chilled out day looking round the shops and heading to the beach. It reminds me of how Newquay used to be before it got really chavy, most of the surf shops closed and all the boy racers took over. There are some great surf shops in Byron. I hired a boogie board and caught some waves for a couple of hours. Adam just sat on the beach and slept. A nice relaxing day. I am ready to take on a big city again now.
We rolled up back in Brisbane at 18:00 and are about to make gourmet veggie chilli take two before we pack our bags for the flight to Sydney tomorrow - our last destination!
