Sunday, July 13: The wind woke us up early and made packing up that much more difficult. There was definitely a storm brewing so we got on the road and fought the wind all the way to Alice Springs. The rain started about 200 km North of Alice Springs and didn't stop all night! It was 6 degrees when we pulled into the G'Day Mate Caravan Park and set up the tent in the rain. Sunday, July 6: We left Coober Pedy headed toward the Northern Territory and Alice Springs, the town in the centre of Australia. The road was long, lonesome but surprisingly beautiful with all of the vast open spaces and strange, white pyramids of the Coober opal fields.
