It's an early start, we haven't managed to sleep and we fly out at 7am arriving at 8.30 New Orleans time. The flight was only 2 hours and it's only a 2-hour time difference, we grab an Uber cab to our motel in Metairie and thankfully she lets us check on early at 10am - after 24 hours of being awake we crash out and get up round 5pm. We get up around 10am and dress smart with a plan to head off for the day in a hired car to Key West. It's like the American Caribbean, supposedly its really similar and also the most southerly point of the U.S. We hire a car through Sixt rentals for two days costing around £80 including full coverage and set off on a 4-hour drive to Key West.
