We are super excited, Jamie has been told to look for speedy travel when he arrives, his imaginary bus transfer, so imaginary that if he did google them he would be worried - given they don't exist! Good thing he trusts us ;)

We arrive well ahead of Jamie, and manage to pick up our car, getting an awesome upgrade to a better 4wd than we booked and we make tracks for our Airbnb.

The Airbnb is based just outside of the capital, with views of a stunning lake and rolling mountains, it comes with a great outdoor patio area and everyone will have their own bedroom. The apartment is fab, loads of space, we dump our stuff. Time to go!

We arrive at the airport to collect Jamie, who is of course expecting a dodgy bus transfer. We wait hiding behind a pillar at the Arrivals Hall, spotting Jamie, Jacq has the video camera on and Matt watches from his hiding spot, as Jamie is clearly looking around for "speedy travel signs". Matt walks up to him and Jamie's face is an absolute picture. He is gobsmacked, hand over his mouth, drops his case and it is so emotional and lovely. Jacq is welling up, of course.

The brothers are hugging and laughing and we walk out to the car, Jamie is still in disbelief and we put his mind to rest explaining it was all part of a grand master plan to a) wind him up a little but b) make the reunion so much better.

Jamie is loving the car, we head off to the apartment but stop in a pub in Reykjavik that Matt and Jacq loved last time they were here called Kaffibarinn (it is where Jarvis Cocker and Damon Albarn party and was once part owned by them). A quick beer and lots of hugs and we are off to our apartment for a night of catching up and lots of beer... Success!!
