So excited for the day ahead, we have done this before and are hoping Jamie, Anna & Susie love it!
So, we firstly head off for a trip on the Elder boat out in search of whales and dolphins. The boat provides a 2-hour tour, an on board cafe/bar and some great padded, not too stylish, suits to keep warm whilst stalking the ocean.
We get briefed on what to expect from the day and the type of sea life we might see, Minke Whale is the most popular here this time of year. Cosy and donning our furs, the ladies head up on deck - it is freezing!!! But we are toasty enough and spoiled for choice quite quickly. Jacq is elated - we see the most amount of wild bottle neck dolphins we have ever seen, travelling in a huge pod and entertaining us all with giant leaps and mid-air spins. It is amazing! And, it goes on for ages, Matt gets some good videos in a prime spot at the front of the ship. We are thrilled!!! We also see the odd Minke Whale but today the dolphins stole the show! Anna and Susie watch but perhaps get a bit too accustomed to the spectacle and opt for a rest on a bench, it has been an action packed trip.
We are all elated, and the ship returns us in plenty of time for our next appointment at the Blue Lagoon. Time for some R&R.
We all arrive in search of a welcomed rest and the group is delighted with this gorgeous setting. With a premium package we get a free glass of bubbles and a robe each, as well as a free sample pack of some of their products. Everyone is pleased and we enjoy roaming around the lagoon, taking advantage of the free face packs on offer. The lagoon is man made, but definitely one for the bucket list. You are sat in steaming pools with warm revigoriating waters, only realising the icy ait that surrounds you when you pop out for a drink - and it is a sharp realisation! Anna and Susie leave after an hour, last time Matt & Jacq were here 4 hours breezed by - Jamie is loving it, but we all opt to leave after 90 minutes so everyone can get home and rest in time for a big day out tomorrow as we drive the Golden Circle on our last day.
