So, we set off today towards Valmont thinking we'll stop at Mount Robson overnight - the views are getting much more mountainous as we pass the Monas mountains and Mount Robson itself, the highest of the Rockies, is only 60km away. So, we get some great snaps and opt to drive further into Jasper allowing us more time to explore this huge National park.
As we approach it we reach a toll booth - we must pay for day passes in advance for as long as we want to stay so we pay for 4 nights at $78 and then you pay for the camping on top. We aim to reach the Far East Pochahontus campsite to start and settle with a night relaxing there before exploring tomorrow. The route is great you're literally driving through the Rockies with wild Goats, Rams and Chipmunks by the roadside.
The site is $21 and we are welcome of it after a 5-hour drive, Matt's shattered and keen to go Bear hunting tomorrow! Not really hunting like, more like a Bear stakeout….
