Tom has given his sickness to Marl Lou. She has it a lot worse, which is a real shame because were going on safari today.
First we visited kwantu elephant interaction program. This is a new development from Kwantu game reserve, and will soon be a very posh enterprise. Our guide for our elephant interaction was a Zimbabwean, and although he had all the knowledge he left painful pauses between sentences which was funny. They had 5 elephants here, and they roam around a large park until they need to do some training or put on a show. I liked this idea, but ML bless her, felt bad for upsetting their peaceful day.. We were shown a display of their ability which consisted of them playing football, dancing, bowing, saluting and synchronised moves. Followed by letting us all feed them pellets either into their delicate trunk or straight onto their big tongues.
After the elephants we drove to Kwantu's main reserve. It has been established for a fair few years now and is based around a 5 star hotel. Were wee greeted well and shown the bedrooms and conference hall, followed by an appetiser. We waited in the grand lobby with is African art and comfy sofas until we were called. The safari was made extra special because it was only the 6 of us in the whole park. We met our happy guide Wilfred. (Wilderbeast, Impala, Lion, Fox, Rhino, Elephant, Deer) was his way of spelling his name. Huge v8 open backed Landrover was our vehicle and I was lucky enough to have the whole back row to my self. First we went crunching over termite noida and through thick bush in search of the two lion on the park. Tom was using the tracking device to locate them, but was using it like a special person... Wilfred found us the impressive Lion and lioness. We toured the park and saw all the animals we could have hoped for and more. After we returned from our drive, we went back into the 5 star hotel and ate a 5 course meal. ML was feeling really I'll and couldn't manage any of the food. We more than made up for her portion eating like animals, I must have gone back 6-7 times!! It was the best safari, an I will defiantly be back. What a day!
