Our lay day in Cape Town was again a sad one. We had to say goodbye not only to Thea with our early morning chats over tea, amazing food, great company and homely welcomes, but to everyone else we had met. Today we were meant to be flying to India.... Due to the Indian consulate in Cape Town only being able to offer advice on acquiring a visa until May when they will be able to issue them directly, we had to apply to Johannesburg. This takes 7 working days to process and we discovered this 7 working days before we flew, which would have been a risk. We therefore extended our flights to the 19th, and thankfully Thea didn't mind us staying a tad longer. I was happy...

Tom and I left Thea for a couple of days to stay in the centre of Cape Town on Long street. We met up with Mike, which was a great reunion that comprised of a good final few beers on Long street, and at one stage Mike and I ended getting a lid back in a police car who's officers must have felt sorry for our lost selves. Cape Town was 450km away an we needed to be there before 1400, so we left before 0800. The drive was stunning with scenic views and large natural crevices that the road meandered through.
