We are now in Koh Phangan, an island on the east coast of Thailand.? We came here for the full moon party wihch is on 1st May - supposed to be really good, and we both missed it last time!? We have a beach hut right on the beach (funnily enough!) - it's where Jack stayed when he was here last time.

We had a long journey here from the Perhentian Islands - got the speedboat at 4.00pm to the mainland, then a taxi for an hour and a half to Kuala Besut (the taxi only cost 7quid between 4 of us??(London taxis should take a leaf out of their book!) then the overnight bus to Butterworth (from 10pm to 5am) then the train at 6.20 to Hat Yai where we then got another train to Surat Tani (arrived there at 8pm) then the overnight ferry to Koh Phangan, and we finally got here at 6.00am this morning!!? So a couple of days of solid travelling...!? We made friends with some locals on the train - everyone here is really friendly and smiles all the time.? We had a chilli eating competition with a local - we lost miserably and jack had a coughing fit and sent his rice flying from his mouth to the locals amusement!!!? There were vendors coming through the carriage about every 5 minutes trying to sell drinks and food, one of them went away to get something and Jack hid his bucket under the seat - he was nearly on the floor laughing when he came back - the little things that amuse people!!!? Jack later got a photo with him sitting on his knee, pictures to follow....

Its nice here - although it would be better if it wasnt raining!? We had great weather for 2 days, now its rainy and its set to last all week apparently!? Its still pretty hot though and hopefully we'll get some good storms!? We've made quite a lot of friends on the way who travel with us, and we can go out with them at night.? Tonight we're going to watch the Fulham v Arsenal game - it's on at 10.00pm.? Jack's prediction - 2-1 Fulham, Bouba Diop wonder goal, you saw it here first.

Anyway, off to get a massage (for about 3quid!) and maybe a pedicure (just me, not Jack).
