Snorkelling and picnic at Haad Khom!

Today we rode back to Haad Khom to try the snorkelling there. We took the very steep steps down to the gorgeous beach. The water was not so good when we first arrived, as after the awful weather of the last two days, it was still quite churned up. We went for a swim and then decided to have our picnic we had brought with us. Some munchies and wine! Very nice! We were near a bar there which had a huge pig sleeping right in the bar! Only in Thailand!!! They were playing some chilled out music so it was a lovely atmosphere for our picnic.

Later we decided to swim again and in just an hour or so the water had become crystal clear again! So tried out our snorkels. Wow!!! Went out over the rocks and suddenly there were fish everywhere! They were feeding just under us. Heaps and heaps of green and yellow parrotfish, as well as angel fish. Just gorgeous!! It was so much better than the other day, well worth the wait!

On the way back home we stopped at Chaloklum and had a wonderful dinner at Nong Nook restaurant there. Our table overlooked the beach and was so serene. It was just before dark and the view was amazing. Our dinner was garlic and pepper whole fish which was delicious. One of our best meals on the trip.
