Another lazy day in Paradise.....

Today was a very hot one... Up to 37!

The weather here has just been perfect ever since we arrived. Just a hint of a breeze and sunny skies. Had a very quiet lazy day today. Went for a walk in the late morning, it was already mid 30's and then stopped off at the Caffe del Sonno for lunch. Had a fantastic meal there for €23 - $32 for both of us. This included a huge calzone (family sized!), stuffed with ham, mushrooms, mozzarella, artichokes; as well as farfalle pesto, beautifully light meatballs and garlic spinach. Yum! Also included a half litre carafe of red wine. So cheap for all that and it was delicious. Will definitely be going there again! We have also found that supermarket shopping is really quite cheap here. Even though the Euro has slipped quite a bit in the past month, it is still much cheaper than shopping at home, which has been a very pleasant surprise. We do save a lot of money by eating a lot of our meals here at home, mainly salads, cheeses, salamis, fruit. etc. We have only eaten out twice so far. We have also found that the supermarkets sell the most wonderful gelato in 500 ml tubs for only €2.99. - about $4.30 - we have choc/ pistachio and tiramisu here and make our own gelato cones- delicious! Beats paying €2.50 per cone!

After lunch we came back for a swim and a snooze. Lauri has also been doing some edging etc in the garden.

Another walk in the evening and a late dinner at home, and another lazy day gone!! Ahh holidays!
