Wednesday 15th July
Yesterday morning we went up and headed down for breakfast. The breakfast in the hotel is so good, make your own waffles and continental breakfast. We then split up into smaller groups to do our own thing so Penny and I left and walked down Bourbon Street. We went into some of the shops until we got to the end of the street. We went and got frozen yogurt for lunch then walked down towards Mississippi River. When we got down there we sat on one of the benches for about an hour just chilling by the river. We then walked over to the big Jazz Cruise Boat and looked at the options on it, there was a 2 hour one which was about to leave in just over half an hour so we went to see how much tickets were. They were only $29 so we decided to go ahead and do it. We sat outside on the boat until we got to the half way point where we were going to turn around and go back. We then went into the gift shop a look, went a look around all the restaurants and bars, looked at our picture we got taken, watched the Jazz band for a wee while and went into the engine room to explore. When we were just about to get off the boat the captain walked past us so we asked him if we could get our photo taken with him. He said yes and asked us if we wanted to go up to his deck to see up there and get better pictures, so we did. We were both grinning from ear to ear and getting to go up there. We got pictures taken and a talk from him about how everything works and what everything is. We then got off the boat and walked back up towards the house we are staying in, went into a few more shops along the way and spent yet more money. We got back to the house had a shower and got changed then went out for dinner with Luke, Jenni, Clair and Ji. We had a lovely meal in a really nice place and then left to go back to the house. We sorted out or luggage and then got a nice early night
