Thursday 9th July
We were woke up by the jeep driver at about 5am for sunrise yesterday. He drove us over to the sunrise hot spot. The views there was totally out of this world! We got some nice group pictures there as well. We were then driven to get breakfast which was cereals, cakes, buns and cookies. So good! The jeep driver gave us a lift down to the visitor centre where we went to the toilet - which was like luxury after going the whole night with no toilet! We then got on the road and headed for Santa Fe. I sat in the front with Emily because she was really tired so I was voted chatterbox in the front seat to keep her awake. We got to Santa Fe about 4:30 so we got an hour around the shops and stalls. It was amazing, I spent so much but could have easily spent a whole lot more! Lots of nice jewellery and hand crafted items. Penny and I got cupcakes, strawberry shortcake and red velvet. Yum!!
We then met back up at 5:30 and drove to camp to get the tents set up. We had a tiny site for the 6 tents so we were squished together but it was okay. We went for showers and then went to Cowgirls Restaurant for dinner. The Southern BLT was in there at the same time as us so I got a nice catch up with Tom, Rich, Susan and Veronica as well as the rest of the group. We got nachos for starter and then I had steak fajitas. We went and sat with the other group after dinner and just chilled with them. We then said the 'see you laters' and headed back to camp for bedtime. I had a really good sleep, woke up to everyone complaining about all the bad wind and rain in the night but I slept through it all.
