It was quite stuffy in the room when we woke and as there is no outside window you have no idea what time of the morning it is. I had awoken at around 4am looking up at the starry sky gently swaying with the boat rocking on the water. It was quite surreal, being in the middle of Maya bay with silence except for the water lapping against the boat. With the dark outlines of the imposing rocks around the bay it was quite eerie. Well we woke up at just before 7am and weren't all that pleased at the idea. We had very little sleep and a trek to Koh Phi Phi ahead. We packed the last of our things and waited out front for the mini van to the pier. We had bananas for breakfast but I couldn't stomach them... Today was our last day in Phuket and tonight was the start of a big festival in the old town of Phuket to celebrate the Chinese New Year. We may of mentioned there is a significant Chinese influence in this region and is reflected in the cuisine plus the Chinese lanterns everywhere!
