Today we both woke up with the mother of all hang overs, it pretty much felt like death...Laura kept saying "Steven, I actually think I'm going to die". I think the cheap local booze combined with reckless mixing pretty much sealed our fate! Even I felt bad, which normally suggests it had been heavy! We were meant to head to town today but in our state it would not be productive. I packed up Laura's bag for her has she was floating in and out of consciousness. I managed to secure us a beach hut for a very good rate down the road called Strawberry Bungalows, which we had looked at previously. I got a couple of nights secured and Laura eventually managed to stir!!
On leaving the guesthouse I got a pretty thorough exit interview, probably because I was moving to a rival. It could of been a 'mind you own business' moment but I gave some constructive criticism which they asked for! The privacy issue was a big thing (really thin walls) and they charge a lot of more for their bungalows, we were moving to a cheaper place and they pretty much didn't like that they had been undercut, but hey... we would always go for the cheaper option. At about 11am we moved our stuff down the road and settled into our lovely bungalow. To our surprise, not only was it en suite, it had hot water, it's so rare out here! After unpacking our stuff we decided to try and recuperate with fried noodles and water! The bar man from last night was passed out on the hammock next to the bar and he admitted details were sketchy from the previous night. We chatted to a few of the regulars and we needed to start to think about our next moves. The whole Myanmar trip was being a bit of a burden on me but I think we have finalised our plans now, hopefully! My stomach was giving me a bit of grief which I think that was down to the dodgy spirits combined with curry and poor Laura couldn't eat anything. Unfortunately we wouldn't be able to meet up with Hamish and Milly in town because we would not be very good company tonight anyway!
After an afternoon nap we were feeling more human so thought we would chill out at Rory's and have some food. The fried pork and rice was again amazing and Laura had a gorgeous vegetable curry which was literally rammed with veg! We decided to go for a bit of "the hair of the dog' and had a couple of cool beers, definitely 'make or break' time. We then decided to get an early night tonight as we both felt very tired and we prayed for a good night sleep, wish us luck!
