Yet another incredible city ... Florence. Having spent 3 months here 20 years ago (how can it be that long - it feels like yesterday!!!??!) and then been here on our honeymoon 15 years ago (I know?!??!?) it's so lovely to come back here with our children. There have been so many changes over the years but the essence of Florence is the same. It's such a wonderful city with so much character.
Just walking the streets and looking up at the Duomo is enough to make you love Florence so that's what we did this evening. Dinner overlooking the uffizi with the hotel only a stones throw away and once again we couldn't ask for more.
Tomorrow we go to Camogli for 5 days of R & R but doing this trip has reminded me how much I love travelling and I hope it has inspired Hugo and Eliza to get out and see the world (when they're old enough of course!!).
As mad as it sounded when we started planning this trip it turns out that interrailing with children is not just possible it's hugely enjoyable!
