What an incredible first day!
It didn't start out that well though. We'd been given a recommendation for a great Boulangerie so off we went to get breakfast. We walked for about 20 minutes only to find it was closed (and was actually 5 minutes from the apartment if we'd looked at a map before we left!).
By then we were all starving so we just picked the next Boulangerie that we could find! We'll try the good one again tmrw!
The day definitely improved after that though. We got the bus to the champs elysee and walked up to the arc de triomphe. The sun was shining, the streets weren't too crowded and we were looking at one of the most recognisable monuments in the world - could we ask for more?
Well we did ... and this afternoon we visited the Eiffel Tower. We had booked a tour which we would definitely recommend. The guide was brilliant - very well informed and very patient with the kids - and we got to go places that very few people go. First we went into an underground bunker nearby and then we went into the lift engine room under the Tower, before skipping all the queues to go up in the lift! Brilliant! AND no queuing!
We all loved it!
And now we're home and we're all shattered! All the gadgets/devices are on and everyone is just chilling out.
It should be an early night all round so we can get an early start tomorrow.
Mona Lisa here we come ...
