We have arrived in Paris!
We landed at about 5.30pm Paris time and collected the bags (all straps intact thank goodness).
We managed to carry our rucksacks (well all except Eliza who needed some help with hers!) to the airport station to catch the train to gare du nord station.
The advice we'd been given was to get the metro but we decided to walk ... Not quite the Parisian walk we were hoping for I'm afraid!
As with most stations the area is rather seedy and seemed to be full of young men hanging around. Fortunately as we got into Montmartre things definitely improved and then (after about a 30 minute walk) we found the apartment!
It is fabulous!!! It's really funkily decorated with mad and unexpected things (note the tiger in the wall) and, believe it or not, I'm sitting at the table in the back of a Renault as I type this!
The kids are in bed - but still giggling -and Martin and I are planning tomorrows activities - the champs elysee and the Eiffel Tower we think ...
