Hello everybody, well today was our last full day in Berlin, for tomorrow we are flying to Rome. So on our last day we decided to visit the Sachsenhausen concentration camp. We decided to forgo the tour and find it are self. Saved 15€ and felt like a true tourist, plus we could do things at our own pace and not have to rush along like a usual tour does. I won't say to much about it, because its the 4th one I have visited and its just to, - in simplest terms- sad to write about. If you have visited one yourself or have a general idea about concentration camps, then you know what it's like. And if you haven't then you should definitely look into doing so. It was Catherine's first time visiting one and I think she learned a lot from it. So lets move on to happier things. So next we went to the holocaust memorial - son of a b****- sorry it was that kind of day for visits I guess.
On a side note, every night in Berlin we have got a new roommate into are room. Tonight we got the top of the class for weirdos. He's an ex-navy American who has had a few beers for sure. So far we (mostly Catherine, because I'm being my usual un-social self) have learned a few "TMI" tidbits from are new friend, he's lost 2 uncles to cancer, 1 uncle lost his testicles from having something heavy drop on them (sorry was ignoring most of that story, until I heard testicles), his father over dosed on drugs, an uncle told him to stay away from his children because as he put it "he doesn't want his gay-ness rubbing off on them", ( i dont think he is gay) and then top it off with telling us how his mother was murdered. So yeah should be a good sleep tonight. So if we do in fact get murdered his name is Rick and he was last stationed in Seattle, before which he was stationed in San Diego where he was promoted to second class "whatever", but chose not to re-enlist and opting to go to Europe instead. Ps he's originally from Georgia. Ahhhh backpacking, might be getting to old for this. So yeah he's talker.
So tomorrow we fly to Rome and it looks like we picked a good time to go, because my BFF Obama is doing a speech tomorrow. And everything is going to be on lock down. So hopefully that doesn't mess with our flights and such, or else I will snap. Damn you Obama, oh wait big brother the NSA might be reading, so lets pretend I didn't write this whole blog and end it on that note. Auf weidersehen!!!
Ps guess who the cover photo is. Eeermerica everybody!!!
