Hi all, well we weren't murdered by that crazy in Berlin, for we are now in Rome. We flew from Berlin to Rome on easyjet, the plane ride was what it was. But the experience of checking in was hectic and sweaty to say the least. It seems like air conditioning over here is available yet it seems the dial to turn it on, is constantly broken. Case in point being our hotel room. It's safe to say that leaving Berlin and its 30 degree weather would be a blessing. However, we got off the plane to Rome and its 35 degree weather. Lets just say me and Catherine have excepted the disgusting feeling of our, constant sweaty bodies.
Our first day in Rome and we found the hotel no problem, so we went to go fine some food. The process of finding dinner is extremely painful due to Catherine not being able to eat anything with gluten in it, especially in Italy. I think it was safe to say that yesterday we were not happy with each other. We finally found a place to eat after what felt like 50 different restaurants and the dinner felt like an awkward first date where we had nothing in common. But we were just hateing each other at that point. So off to bed we went at 9:30, eager to start the next day and explore Rome.
Well we woke up at 11, I guess we needed to have a good sleep for the first time since we got here. I'm guessing yesterday can be chalked up to the heat and lack of sleep. Anyways, one déjà vu moment was finding out James "tony soprano" Gandolfini died in Rome on the day we arrived. No idea why, but it seems so weird to me.
So we went to the coliseum today and that was interesting to say the least. Being the second time I have seen it, visiting it never gets old. One thing we did was book our tickets online and when we got there, man did it pay off. What would have took easily 2 hours just to buy tickets we had done in maybe 5-10 minutes. Totally worth the extra 4€, especially considering the heat. We plan to visit the Vatican tomorrow and have done the same thing, so happy about that. After the coliseum we walked around the streets of Rome, seeing the sights and jumping into the shade as much as we could. So I will post some photos on fb tonight, and we write again soon. Goodnight all.
