Hello everybody, well today was our first full day in Berlin and I think we are still fighting the time differance/jet lag. Yesterday after we arrived, we went for a walk around and saw checkpoint Charlie and its museum, the Berlin Wall or what remains of it, the Reichstag (German parliament buildings) and the Brandenburg gate. We arrived mid afternoon so we didn't have much time to do much, but we were able to knock a few things off the list. The best thing about Berlin so far has been the location of our hostel. It's literally connected to the main train station in Berlin, so it was easy to find and quick to get to in order to get places. Which, if you have travelled in Europe before, is a true blessing. Thank you Jesus.
Today we went to the zoo and aquarium. All in all it was a good visit, taking us about 4-5 hours from start to finish. After that we went and saw the bombed out church, it was really cool with all it's dark blue stained glass (see Facebook photos). But from there the jet leg caught up with us and we were dead tired and had to come back for a nap. We concluded that with Catherine being pregnant and me being a fat b******, we are going to have to slow the pace down. So if that means missing a few things along the way so be it. It doesn't help that the weather is stupid hot over here, being in the high 20's. Italy is suppose to be 29 and 30 degrees the whole time we are there.
Tomorrow we are off to visit the Sachsenhausen concentration camp. Its an hour outside of Berlin, and we are winging it on how to get there. So it should be fun. On another note, we never did get kicked off that train from Amsterdam, and we even got some money back because we had to switch trains and with the new train we didn't receive our seat reservations. Ca-Ching! Anyways see u tomorrow.
Random fact from Berlin. The women really love their short shorts.
