We arrived back in Melbourne just in time to return the hire car. We then went into town and spent the day shopping for Geraldines souvenirs That night we went back to Lentil as anything for a mixed curry platter and a bottle of wine and then went for a few drinks to say goodbye to geraldine. The next day we saw geraldine off and went out for a few bevvies with Cov and Sam and Michelle (Sams sister) as they were in Melbourne for a few days. It was great to see them again, we had a good laugh. The next evening (after a day veging as it was a scorcher) we met up with Ross and Claire who we met on the Colca Canyon treck in Peru. WE had a great evening, a nice big vege curry meal and several pints and later were joined by their friend dave who was a good laugh too. We couldnt believ it had been 6 months, and we founbd out they got salmonella from that treck ....we were so lucky that could have sent me home. Tjhe next day the four of us went to the Australian Open to spend the day watching some tennis. We watched Courier vs Mello. a really long match but very good game and then we watched and cheared patriotically for Henman and he whooped a romanian guy. It was all a great day out but shattering. On our final day we pottered about, went down to the beach for a while and had a nice lunch at a cafe in st kilda. That night we got some fish & chips and went to Claire and Ross'plush apartment in a huge grand house and got right royally drunk as we rambled and caught up. Ross walked us a bit of the way back to show us the way, he was plasterd so it was really funny.
