After a coach ride back up to Keri Keri we picked up Delia and headed straight South for the long journey to Palmerston North. We decided to go to see the North by coach as we couldnt take Delia so we booked onto the Dune Safari tour. We were picked up in the morning by Craig in a people carrier instead of the 4x4 truck we were expecting (broken down...we were jinxed). We headed off for our first stop at a nearby rainforrest. Our first stop out of Auckland when we finally got Delia back was at Pahia and we stayed at Huraru falls campground by a river. We were accosted by lots of ducks and ducklings. It was a beautiful coastal drive up. After a succesful night (warmer and more comfortable than we expected) we set off to Waitangi. We arrived in Auckland unprepared, without our lonely planet guide, so we headed to the travel people who booked us into the ACB for our first night. What a bizarre place, its an office block converted into a hostel, and exactly that, take out the desk and put in a bed!.
