Ian & Claire's Adventure
After a long 4 1/2 hr ride back to Auckland we stayed at the ACB office block again, this time in a horrid tiny room with no windows and a floor lower so we could hear the bar all night.
On the monday we arrived at the airport all eaxited to see Tina again. She finally arrived after being stuck behind 5 other flights all landing at the same time. It was great to see her, we went off to find some accomodation, we decided on an appartment so we could chat and be sociable. We arrived at the appartment and it was great, very smart in the centre of town, all new really tall ceilings and everything we needed including washer/dryer and lots of complimentaries to nick.
We went for some nice noodles for lunch, wandered around town then we went up the sky tower for drinks and to watch the (well sort of) sunset. The view from up there is great at night. We then went back to the appartment to get changed and headed off to the Viaduct for a meal. We went past a few places the saw this Brazillian place which looked like fun so we went in and it turned out to be an all you can eat brazillian meat bbq but really plush place. We ate and ate and ate, waiters turned up with skewers of every kind of meat possible, ignoring the red block which was supposed to mean we'd had enough. We then went to a pub for a drink and a chat and headed back, we were all shattered.
The next morning we went to our favourite cafe for a fry-up, then went to the museum. It is a fabulous place full of all sorts of NZ and pacific islander carvings etc. We then had to head back as Tina was flying out later in the afternoon.
Tina very nicely then booked us another room in the appartment for that evening, they didnt have a free one bedroom so we eneded up with a two bedroom again. We took Tina back to the airport to say goodbye.
That evening we invited Cov and Sam to 'our place' and sat up late chatting and drinking wine.
