26/12/04 On boxing day we went to Bronte and walked along the cliffs to Bondi beach, it was a glorious day, we went to the market and sat by the beach and had a nice smoothie with the beautiful people (or stick insect women and gay men as kevin calls them) The next few days we took geraldine on tours of sydney, we walked through the botanical gardens where we saw bats, huge parrots which came and landed on us, huge spiders and of course fantastic views of the opera house and bridge, we met kevin and went for a drink and walk up round the harbour and up to the rocks where we had a drink in the oldest pub in sydney. On my birthday we walked through chinatown to Darling Harbour and then we walked to the Sydey Aquarium which is huge and spectacular, huge sharks and beautiful fish, it really made us want to go diving again. We got back and there was a beautiful bouquet of flowers, lots of my favourites on the doorstep from Westby Family xxx That evening we went to Balmain. We went to a pub for a drink, and got accosted by a bunch of drunk aussie lads which was a laugh. We then went to Trojens restaurant for a lovely meal, Ian had Kangaroo! The next day we went to Manly on the ferry and sat on the beach and sunbathed under the clouds and the sea was freezing cold but we went for a little dip. On New Years eve Kevin went out and bought some little chairs and we made quiche and salad and took a picnic and wine down to Balmain Park which is right in front of the bridge, we picked our little spot on the grass and stayed there all night, we watched the fireworks and joined the othere hundreds of people all celebrate new years eve. It was great. We went back around 1am and then sat on the porch, set off party poppers and had a little party in our drunken state. The next day we watched will and grace repeats all day feeling extremely tired and rough.
