Ian & Claire's Adventure
21/12/04 Sydney
We drove through the Yengo National Park to Sydney, before we knew it we were on the Harbour Bridge. We suprised Kevin by turning up at his work (the uni) as we hadnt managed to call him first. We picked him and Baz(The dog, a real character staffy) up and went bck to theirs for a well earned Gin & Tonic and spent the night catching up.
The next day or so we went to the marets in Glebe and walked down to the botanical gardens through Hyde park where we saw men at lunchtime playing the giant chess board. After a while the sight of the opera house and bridge filled our view, it really is stunning to see. The bridge will later become one of those lovely familliar sights popping into view when you least expect it.
It is so nice to be here, Sydney is truely beautiful, the water, the tall city and the huge botanical gardens and of course the bridge and opera house to set it off. Kevin lives in Glebe, a really nice suburb, not far from the city by bus and the house is great.
On the evening of the 23rd we went to the airport and picked up Geraldine, se had cut her hair short and looked more like a traveler than we did, it was great to see her, our merry little band had increased by one for a month.
