After driving about 450kms from Alice Springs, we arrive at the Yalara Resort Campground. It is a large campground with a lovely pool. Yalara was built to accomodate tourist coming to visit the rock. It has a supermarket and a few shops and a coffee shop run by Indigenous students in training for the hospitality industry. As it was Allens birthday, we had coffee and cake there. Today we did a trip out to various locations in the West Macdonnell Ranges. We travelled 130kms to Glen Helen Gorge for our first attraction. It is so dry out here, all the river beds are just busand but there is usually a pool of water at the gorges and Glen Helen was the same. We arrived in Alice on the 25th Oct and set up at the Heritage Caravan Park as they are the only ones in town that allow dogs. Two others also allow dogs but are about 10km further out of town. After setting up we visited Anzac Hill which overlooks Alice and was amazing. After a long day on the road, nothing much to stop to see, we stopped at Ti Tree for the night. We met a couple from NZ who have been traveling Oz for nearly two years. We had a few drinks with them, then dinner, and then we crashed for the night.......so tired, and of course, the drinks helped.

The things you see out in the middle of Oz!!! Wauchope had a row of rusty cars and a tractor to show......and then Wycliffe (apparently known for a UFO sighting) had really weird stuff pertaining to aliens and spaceships etc. What a weird and wonderful country we live in.
