Movie World today. Otherwise known as "Lesson in patience". We queued for an hour and 15 minutes just to get in. I know it's holidays in all three states, but that's just ridiculous. We expected to have long queues for rides...and we did, mimimum of an hour for most rides. A much better drive back to the barge this morning as it was low tide so we could drive on the beach the whole way. However it can be a bit intimidating to have a huge 4WD bus on one side of you with the ocean on the other...especially when the bus is sliding on the sand! We started the day at Eli Creek today. Eli creek is a freshwater creek that empties 4 million litres of fresh water into the ocean every year. You can float downstream or snorkle to check out the fish. Then you get out, run back up the boardwalk, and do it all over again. The water was pretty cold as we tried to get there early as it gets very busy. We thought it was crowded when we arrived, but that was nothing to when we left...three tour buses and about twice ...

We didn't have so much beach driving to do today, so were able to set off later as the tides weren't so important. Today we did our own tour of the "lakes"...Lake Boomanjin, Lake Birrabeen and the popular Lake Mackenzie. Lake Boomanjin is the world's largest "perched" lake, which meNs it is "perched" on top of a sand dune and is fed only by rain water. In fact all three lakes we visited today are perch lakes.
