Daley Waters - Thursday 28th April to Saturday, 30th April
Our first stop today was Tennant Creek. We enjoyed a stroll around the Cultural Centre and read about the Stolen Generation (which always makes me sad) and how the local indigenous people lost their land to the European Pastoralists. It is hard to believe that even back then it was considered acceptable behaviour.Removing people from their home and land because it was considered good farming land or a good palace to live…compounding the situation by taking their children away from them.We wonder why they are having some social issues now.
Max gets very concerned when hearing about the Stolen Generation and usually spends the rest of the day asking questions about why the people did this…it is a very hard question to answer.
After a very long day in the car we finally arrived at Dalely Waters.Once set up and showered we headed around to the historic "Daley Waters" outback pub…famous for a number of reasons but more recently for it's "Barra and Beef" night and live entertainment.
The following day Max did a little bit of school work before we all headed to the pool to cool off.We enjoyed a quiet day and early night.
