We got up and packed the car. It took us awhile since we tried to reorganize and sort things a bit. We left at 11 am and headed south to the City of Rocks National Preserve.
We stopped at the visitor center first and then headed into the preserve to rock climb. We did the "practice rock" since it was the boys' first time climbing on actual rock. They enjoyed it and then we drove around the park. It is a really neat place and difficult to describe how unique of a place it is.
We tried to eat at the only "restaurant"/place open on Sundays in the area but their "pizza guy" has asthma and couldn't work today. So we didn't have dinner.
We then drove over to Castle Rocks and climbed the Warrior Rock. The boys liked this route a lot and climbed it twice. It was about 7 when we left the park. We drove to our campsite in the Smokey Mountain Campground and set up camp right before it got dark. Matt fixes the boys pancakes and I ate a packet of tuna.
We went to bed around 8:30 and the stars were out and really bright.
