I got up around 6 or 6:30 and watched the sunrise over the gorge. There was a chill to the air and the atmosphere was extremely serene. The air was crisp and quiet. No birds, insects, people, cars, etc.
We all got up and packed up the car and headed to the Fossil Butte National Monument. We spent some time there and worked with the boys in completing the Junior Ranger program.
Then we were off to Utah and enjoyed Bear Lake. The lake is extremely blue and is amazing. We ordered pizza to go in Garden City and took it to the lake and ate it on the rocky beach. Then we all took our shoes off and waded in the water. It wasn't warm but it was so clear and nice we overcame the temperature and enjoyed walking around and seeing our feet on the bottom of the lake.
We then moved on and drove to Idaho where the sky was smoky from the wildfires in Oregon and California. From what we could see the landscape was remarkably. Along the drive we stopped and saw where the Oregon Trail ruts are still able to be seen.
Our final destination was an Airbnb in Idaho Falls. We arrived around 6:30, brought our stuff inside and then went grocery shopping for dinner and a few groceries. We came back to the house, ate dinner and then went to bed.
