We got up, ate breakfast at the campsite and then drove to Banbury to rent kayaks. We rented tandem kayaks so Matt and Seth rode together and Liam and I rode together.
The first part of the kayaking trip was downstream so it wasn't difficult. We took our time and looked around and explored a bit. We got to Blue Heart in about 30 minutes. We rode around and marveled at the clear water and blue bottom. You could see fish swimming on the bottom. Then we docked our boats on the rocks and ate our packed lunch. The water is usually around 58 degrees so I had no interest in getting in the water but since it was Matt's birthday, he decided to get in the water. Then Seth decided to get in the water. Seth said it was freezing and swam right back to the rocks. Matt lasted a few seconds more.
Liam wants to paddle around Blue Heart more and then we headed back. The trip back was more difficult and Liam and I had to work a bit. But it was worth it because when we got back we got in the hot spring pool and swam around a bit. It was hot. Seth tried to play but his face got really red and he had to sit out a bit. He said his heart was beating fast. He doesn't do well when he gets hot. The water was well over 100 degrees. Liam did better but he did get warm so we got out and took showers. The boys said their showers were real hot but the shower in the girl's locker room didn't have hot water so I took a cold shower.
Since it was Matt's birthday, he got to choose where to eat dinner and he chose Pizza, Pie, Cafe, which is a chain and our second time eating at one this trip. It is an all-you-can-eat pizza buffet. All the boys like it.
On the way back to our campsite, we stopped at Shoshone Falls. The falls were pretty amazing and the mansions around the area were just as impressive. The boys rode their bikes up a steep bike path. I made it half way but it just wasn't worth it to me so I turned around and came back. They didn't take much longer.
Then we drove back to the campsite and fell asleep to the sound of semi-trucks zooming down the highway.
