Today we left Townsville and drove north to Paluma. There is a fresh water waterfall and creek. It is a place without crocodiles that is in a protected park. There are so many National Parks with designated swimming, hiking, camping spots everywhere! We had a great time, Yes, the water was cold! I will admit, I was looking for snakes and spiders!
We then drove to Mission Beach. We will be here for a couple of days. We are officially in the Great Barrier Reef, Rainforest area. It is very humid and getting a little more "buggy."
We have met a lot of nice people in our journeys and to our surprise people rarely ask us where we are from! Actually, one time at a rest stop there was a big travel tour bus and some lady asked us if she could take a picture of our license plate...lol...we said "sure it was a rental car"...she explained that she was from the United States on vacation!
More later...time for our family Yahtzee tournament!
